How to add an internal link using the Onsite Optimizer

1 min read
  1. Navigate to the Onsite Optimizer and launch it.
  1. Select the page you want to update internal link on from the dropdown box. Make sure this is the page that you’d like to add the link on, and not the destination page for the link.
  1. Locate the text you’d like to add an internal link to, and select the text element.
  1. Highlight the section of text you’d like to add the link on.
  1. On the toolbar, click this icon to add a new link.
  1. You will now be given the option to add the link. You only need to include the URL slug for internal links. (For example, if you’re working on example.com, and want to create a link to example.com/contact-us, you’ll only need to include /contact-us/.)
  1. Once updated, save your changes by clicking the tick icon.
  1. Publish your changes.

Once that’s done, the internal link will be added to the page. Please note, that if you make any changes to a link in your website’s header or footer, it will only be active for that page.
