If your Merchant Center customer misses a payment, do not worry; you will not be charged. This is because Hike only collects a fee once the client has made a payment.
Following an initial unsuccessful payment, Stripe will attempt to process further payments from your Merchant Center customer. The number of attempts may vary, as Stripe employs machine learning to tailor its approach for each customer. Typically, payment attempts occur 4-5 times over a span of a couple of weeks.
During this period, the customer will maintain access to their account. They will receive a final email notification prior to the final payment attempt. If the payment ultimately fails, the subscription will be cancelled, and the customer will lose access to the website. Upon attempting to log in, they will be informed that they do not have an active subscription.
