To directly modify your website via the platform, it's necessary to embed a specific Javascript code snippet within the <head> section of your site. You can do this using Google Tag Manager, if you don’t want to alter the code of your site directly.

Here is a step-by-step guide on installing the Onsite Optimiser using Google Tag Manager. You will need to have your Google Tag Manager account set up beforehand.

  1. Navigate to the Onsite Optimizer in the platform.
  1. Copy the provided javascript snippet. Please note that this snippet is dynamic per website, so you’ll need to make sure you’re viewing the optimizer with the website you’d like to set this up on.
  1. Log in to your Google Tag Manager Account.
  1. Select your website.
  1. On the sidebar, Click “Tags”.
  1. Click “New”.
  1. Rename the tag, in this case we named the tag "Optimizer”.
  1. Click “Tag Configuration”.
  1. Click “Custom HTML”.
  1. Paste the Javascript Snippet into the HTML section.
  1. Scroll down and Click “Triggering”.
  1. Click “All Pages”.
  1. Click “Save”.
  1. Click “Submit”.
  1. Click “Publish”.
  1. Click “Continue”.
  1. Head back to the platform.
  1. Click “Verify Installation”. You will then receive a success message if you have installed the Onsite Optimizer correctly.
